Beyond Bipolar with
Human Design
Human Design can be used to help your understand your specific design and this knowledge is very helpful for establishing routines and stability for people with bipolar disorder.
When I start coaching clients with bipolar disorder or those who support people with this condition, I always run through a Human Design reading with them, as their Type is crucial to the way in which people are designed to be coached. This hour long session is always included in the cost of a coaching package, and it takes place on your first coaching session. From the information in your Human Design chart, the part you are designed to play in this world is clear, as is your profile and the way you are designed to flow through life, together with knowledge of your particular challenges.
With the information from your Human Design chart, we work together so that you are able to harness your natural strengths and learn to flow through life rather than pushing against resistance. I help people “decondition” themselves, as we are all conditioned by those around us. The process of deconditioning is joyful and can really help people to relax and enjoy life, and understand the gifts they have been given as an individual like no other.

Benefits of Human Design for Bipolar
There are many benefits of Human Design for people with bipolar disorder. For instance, sleep (either not enough or too much) can be a real issue, and the Human Design chart provides essential information on the most effective sleeping patterns for each individual. The chart also helps with energy (which many people struggle with) and can help avoid any burnout and gives you the most efficient way to use and manage the energy you have.
There is also information that helps with relationships. In a Human Design reading you learn about the 5 different Types and how to recognise these and how your energy can combine with theirs, how to understand the differences in order to stablise and understand the relationships you already have, and those you will have in future. Relationships and support are key for those with bipolar disorder, and Human Design can really help you as you build your own support network around you.
Why Work With Me?
I have been working with Human Design since 2012, and that combined with my 50 years lived experience of bipolar disorder means that I have a deep and detailed understanding of both. I use this together with my intuitive coaching to help you start to decondition, ie understand your natural energy blueprint, improve your self esteem, and then to become the higher expression that you were born to be. This is a very joyful process that we go on together, as there is so much to learn but it can really change your life, when you understand your purpose and how you were designed to live. Part of my purpose in life is to help others release the patterns and pains of their past and this is what I would like to do for you, so you can move forward claiming your true value and worth in life.

FAQs
Q: Can Bipolar Disorder be cured?
A: Not at this time. However, the condition can be managed, and this is what I concentrate on in my coaching. I use holistic methods to help people to learn to manage their mood swings, become more resilient to stress and build a support network around themselves so they can get help from others when they need it.
Q: Do I have to take medication?
A: Most people with bipolar disorder need to take some kind of medication, but it may take some time to figure out what is the right combination for you. Of course no one can make you take medication (unless you are hospitalised and judged a danger to yourself and therefore medicated) but there is some evidence that the mood swings of bipolar if unchecked can damage the brain, so the emphasis is to try to prevent these swings by using different types of medication and also by using different ways to try to manage the mood swings.
Q: Is bipolar inherited?
A: 48% of identical twins will both have bipolar – if it were only inherited with no other influence this figure would be 100%. So there is a large degree of inheritance here, but it is complicated and there are many genes involved and not enough research has been done as yet. But generally you will find that if you have bipolar disorder you are likely to have a first degree relative (eg parent, aunt, uncle etc) who also has this condition, or a milder version of mood swings such as cyclothymia.
